The Narrow Way

"Encouraging scenes and cheerful blooms along a poorly-surfaced byway" or "Why can't a grown-up, well-educated man find his way unerringly along life's main roads without veering off into the weeds and wilderness?"

Take care.

  1. Your photographs provide an eloquent answer to the question, John.

  2. Gorgeous photographs - proof, if proof were needed, that we live in a beautiful country. And as for veering from the main roads, as Robert Frost noted, it makes all the difference to take the road less traveled by.

I've recently posted a few photos of wildflowers, not to mention a Scottish castle and fishermen's cottages, on my blog - you might like them too. Here's the link in case you are interested:

  3. Quintessential images of our beautiful countryside John, certainly worth veering off main roads for!

The track in your first image looks so inviting!

  4. Browsing these photos remind me reading a book about composition. I can sense all the planning of how each photo was set up.

  6. I would so love to wander those walkways--the photos are cheery under cloudy skies-- love the landscapes with flowers in foreground

  7. Who in their right mind would wish to go along the main road when this is the alternative, John?

  8. Lovely photos today. I really like the horseshoes for some reason--and that long, narrow path.

  9. Love those poppies! I wish they grew wild here. For certain, it's good for the soul to enjoy the free things that nature offers.

  10. I guess the weeds and the wilderness are attractive to the adventurer, and really John, you found some lovely treasures along the narrow path. Thank you for sharing.

  11. There is to be a good reason why not John and it is in these lovely images.

  12. Ha, your opening caption is delightful, one I can sympathize with as I have similar issues :^) Ah, but look at the bounty of beauty you discovered and photographed meandering off the path! THe narrow way is simply not enough for the curious of mind :^)

  13. Is it because the byways are usually much more attractive? What a lovely walk - love the horseshoes on the old wooden post.
